If you’re thinking about
a horse riding holiday in Norfolk, that’s a great
thought! Favourite trekking holidays through Norfolk
include:
Peddars Way. Take
your horse along minor roads and farm tracks right
through the centre of Norfolk to the North Norfolk
Coast. Starts five miles north of Thetford.
The Peddars Way was constructed by Romans in the first
century AD shortly after Boudica's Iceni revolt.
Munnings Trail. A
circular route of 26 miles, which can be ridden as a
whole or in shorter sections. The Trail goes through the
neighbouring village of Mendham where Sir Alfred
Munnings, the famous artist, was born.
Marriot’s Way.
Follow a disused railway track for 21 miles starting at
Hellesdon (north west of Norwich), passing Horsford and
Attlebridge, to Themelthorpe before turning east to
Cawston and ending at Aylsham
Icknield Way. The
Icknield Way Path follows part of the oldest road in
Britain from the Neolithic flint mines in Norfolk to the
ancient sites at Stonehenge and Avebury. It passes
through Buckinghamshire, south Bedfordshire,
Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk for over 120
miles.
